How We Coordinate Multilingual Translation Projects
Every project is assessed individually. The workflow is confirmed according to the language pair, language variety, subject matter, intended audience, content risk, file format, deadline, client instructions, and required level of review.
1. Project
Requirements Assessment
We review the source content, language direction, word count, file format, intended use, deadline, reference materials, and expected deliverables.
2. Language
and Variety
Confirmation
We confirm the requested language and relevant variety before assignment, particularly for Karen, Karenni, Hmong,
and other languages with distinct regional or community varieties.
3. Linguistic Capacity Verification
We verify that the available language professional is suitable for the project’s language direction, subject matter, workflow, and quality requirements before confirming the assignment.
4. Terminology and File Preparation
Client glossaries, translation memories, reference files, style guides, formatting requirements, and previous translations
are prepared for consistent use where applicable.
5. Translation and Agreed Review
The content is translated and reviewed according to the confirmed scope. The workflow may include bilingual review, proofreading, terminology validation, or linguistic QA.
6. Final Quality Control and Delivery
We complete the required consistency, number, reference, formatting, and file checks before delivering the agreed final files and any requested QA findings.
Human Controlled Quality Assurance
Quality decisions are made by qualified language professionals, not by automated checkers alone. Depending on the agreed scope, reviewers may compare the source and translation, identify meaning errors, check for omissions or additions, validate terminology, and verify names, dates, numbers, references, consistency, and formatting.
CAT tools and automated QA checks may support terminology, consistency, and technical verification when permitted by the client.
These tools assist the workflow but do not replace bilingual judgment or professional responsibility.
Legal, medical, official, safeguarding, and other high-risk content may require stricter human-controlled procedures. The appropriate workflow is determined by the content, intended use, confidentiality requirements, quality expectations, and client instructions.
Confidentiality and Responsible Technology Use
Native Linguist follows each client’s instructions regarding confidentiality, nondisclosure agreements, secure tools, restricted content, machine translation, and generative AI use. Project files and client information are shared only with the professionals needed to complete the agreed work.
Content is not submitted to machine translation or generative AI tools when the client prohibits such use or when the agreed workflow requires
human only handling. Where technology is permitted, it may assist with file processing, terminology, consistency, or quality checks, but qualified language professionals remain responsible for final linguistic decisions.
Projects involving sensitive, legal, medical, safeguarding, government, or other high-risk information may be handled under more restrictive procedures according to the client’s requirements and the intended use of the content.
