What Is a Certified Translation?
A certified translation is a complete translation accompanied by a signed certification statement confirming that the translation is true, complete, and accurate.
Native Linguist Co., Ltd. is a legally registered translation company in Cambodia. Every certified English–Khmer translation is prepared and reviewed in accordance with our quality assurance procedures before our certification statement is signed and issued.
Our certification confirms the accuracy and completeness of the translation only. It does not certify the authenticity or legal validity of the original document, nor does it constitute notarization, legalization, apostille, or government authentication. Requirements vary by receiving authority. Clients should confirm current submission requirements directly with that authority. Native Linguist can explain the translation services we provide and prepare the translation according to confirmed instructions.
What's the Difference Between a Certified Translation and
a Notarized Translation?
A certified translation includes a signed certification statement confirming that the translation is true, complete, and accurate.
A notarized translation is different. A notary public generally verifies the identity of the person signing the certification statement,
not the accuracy of the translation itself.
Depending on the receiving authority, a client may need only a certified translation or may also need notarization, legalization, apostille, or another official procedure. Because requirements vary, clients should confirm them directly with the receiving authority before ordering additional services.
Every certified translation issued by Native Linguist identifies the translated document and includes a signed certification statement confirming that the translation has been professionally prepared, reviewed, and certified as true, complete, and accurate.

How Our Certified Translation Process Works
Native Linguist, a legally registered Cambodian translation company based in Phnom Penh, uses a clear process for certified English to Khmer and Khmer to English document translation.

1. Send Your Document
and Requirements
Send us a clear scan or photograph of your document and tell us the language direction, intended use, receiving authority, and deadline. We review the document and confirm the fee, service scope, delivery format, and estimated turnaround time before work begins.
2. Verify Names and Document Details
When a name must appear in English, please provide a passport or official ID when available. We use the spelling shown on that document where applicable and check dates, numbers, seals, stamps, and document legibility. Requirements vary by receiving authority, and that authority determines what it will accept.
3. Translate and Review
A qualified Khmer linguist translates the document and reviews it for accuracy, completeness, terminology, formatting, and consistency. If any text is unclear or information conflicts across documents, we contact you before finalizing the translation.
4. Certify and Deliver
For eligible certified projects, we issue the final translation with a signed, numbered Certificate of Translation and the Native Linguist company stamp. PDF delivery by email is available, and local hard-copy delivery can be arranged in Phnom Penh. Standard turnaround is one to two business days for many common documents. Same-day service may be available for suitable documents after review.
